Collateral Research

I may have found a collateral line for my Marshall County, KY research. As you know, my goal is to prove that my grandfather, Thomas Winchester, was the son of Benjamin F. Winchester of Marshall County, KY. There was a marriage in Marshall County in which Benjamin F served as a witness. This marriage, between Emily C. Winchester and John Frizzell, occurred in 1867, at the home of a Thomas Winchester (this Thomas was probably a brother to Benjamin), also of Marshall County. The fact that Benjamin was a witness leads me to believe that he was related to this Thomas. My continued search ending up in Calloway County, which borders Marshall, gives me a clue that Benjamin may also have been related to Josephus Winchester, who also came from Hardin County, TN in about 1840. This, at least, gives me a few more names to research.

A Letter from Grandma Annie

Here's a letter I received from Marilyn (Winchester) Obal, Uncle Tommy's daughter. This letter was written by grandma Annie (Peerman) Walker-Winchester-Emerine. The copy is in her own hand.
